Help build the foundation
We are developing an Akan-rooted educational program designed to serve neurodivergent students with dignity, individualized support, cultural connection, and meaningful academic opportunity.
Current way to help
Early support can help with organizational development, curriculum resources, professional services, community outreach, planning, and other costs involved in moving the school vision forward.
Support via Cash App: $ReverendAntoineAberewa Middle School does not currently have federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt recognition. Payments made through this link are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations. The Cash App account is currently held by founder Antoine Mason. Funds received for this effort will be recorded and used toward school-development purposes.
Beginning funding priority
This first campaign is intended to fund the professional, legal, financial, and facility-feasibility work required to produce a defensible school-opening plan. It is not the complete cost of opening or operating Aberewa Middle School.
| Planning category | What it supports | Preliminary allocation |
|---|---|---|
| Education and nonprofit legal guidance | Entity review, school-model guidance, governance documents, bylaws, board policies, and regulatory planning. | $7,000 |
| CPA and financial systems | Accounting setup, bookkeeping controls, startup budgets, financial projections, and tax guidance. | $4,000 |
| Federal and state filings | Filing costs, including the current $600 IRS Form 1023 user fee when the organization is professionally prepared and eligible to file. | $1,000 |
| Insurance and risk consultation | Preliminary assessment of organizational, professional, property, student, and employment coverage needs. | $2,000 |
| Facility, zoning, and accessibility feasibility | Initial New Orleans land-use consultation, broker or architect review, candidate-site screening, and preliminary accessibility or life-safety guidance. | $6,000 |
| Board and community development | Board recruitment materials, public information, organized records, community listening, and planning meetings. | $2,000 |
| Planning contingency | Unanticipated professional fees, document corrections, filing changes, and other verified readiness expenses. | $3,000 |
| Total preliminary goal | $25,000 | |
What this campaign does not yet fund: purchasing or renovating a building, full-year payroll, transportation, food service, classroom equipment, or opening-year operations. Separate facility and opening campaigns will be developed only after professional feasibility work produces documented costs.
Long-term vision
Teachers, special educators, related-service professionals, classroom support staff, administrators, and operations personnel.
Accessible curriculum, assistive technology, sensory supports, educational materials, arts, music, and culturally rooted programming.
A safe, accessible opening campus for a phased Year One program of up to 70 students, with a long-term aspiration to expand only as funding, approvals, staffing, services, and demonstrated results allow.
Legal, financial, architectural, regulatory, research, community-engagement, and organizational work required before opening.
Our public Roadmap to Opening identifies the legal, financial, facility, staffing, safety, and educational milestones that must be completed before the school opens.
